Resumen: |
La fractura de cadera es una patología que está aumentando de forma vertiginosa. La frecuente coexistencia, en los ancianos, de factores que favorecen las caídas y de comorbilidad médica asociada, confieren a este grupo de pacientes una especial predisposición a presentar complicaciones médicas graves relacionadas con la fractura. La creación de protocolos de asistencia multidisciplinar y de Unidades de Captura de Fractura (FLS, Fractura Liaison Service) han demostrado mejorar la calidad asistencial en la atención integral del paciente. Material y métodos: Siendo conocedores de estos datos, consideramos que debíamos aunar esfuerzos entre todos los servicios implicados, creando un protocolo de atención hospitalaria multidisciplinar. Seguimos avanzando hasta crear una consulta FLS. En ella, realizamos prescripción y control de la adherencia al tratamiento de la fractura por fragilidad, y asesoramiento en cuanto a medidas higiénico-dietéticas y prevención de caídas. Presentamos nuestra experiencia en el desarrollo de un protocolo multidisciplinar, que hemos ido cumplimentando hasta la actualidad, con la puesta en marcha de una consulta FLS. Resultados: Como consecuencia de la implantación del protocolo de fractura de cadera y de la consulta FLS, hemos conseguido consensuar un modelo de actuación ante esta patología e integrar a los diferentes servicios implicados. Conclusiones: La creación de protocolos en el tratamiento integral de la fractura de cadera permite mejorar la atención de estos pacientes y conseguir mejores resultados clínicos y de funcionalidad. Somos conscientes de las dificultades en el camino para llevar a cabo estas medidas, por lo que exponemos nuestra experiencia con la creación de una Unidad de Captura de Fractura, por si pudiera ser de utilidad para otros servicios que se planteen la puesta en marcha de una FLS. |

Hip fracture is a pathology that is increasing rapidly. The frequent coexistence, in elderly, of factors that favor falls and associated medical comorbidity, make this group of patients especially predisposed to presenting serious medical complications related to the fracture.The creation of multidisciplinary care protocols and Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) have shown to improve the quality of care in comprehensive patient care. Material and methods: Being aware of these data, we considered that we should join efforts among all the services involved, creating a multidisciplinary hospital care protocol. We keep going until we create an FLS. In it, we carry out prescription and control of adherence to fragility fracture treatment, and advice regarding hygienic-dietary measures and fall prevention. We present our experience in the development of a multidisciplinary protocol, which we have been completing up to the present, with the implementation of an FLS. Results: As a consequence of the implementation of the hip fracture protocol and the FLS , we have managed to agree on a model of action in the face of this pathology and to integrate the different services involved. Conclusions: The creation of protocols in the integral treatment of hip fracture allows improving the care of these patients and achieving better clinical and functional results. We are aware of the difficulties in carrying out these measures, so we present our experience in the creation of this query, in case it could be useful for other services considering the implementation of an FLS |
