El osteoma osteoide (OO) es el tercer tumor óseo benigno más frecuente. Sus características epidemiológicas, clínicas y radiológicas están clásicamente muy bien descritas. Aunque el tratamiento Gold Standard de esta tumoración sigue siendo la ablación por radiofrecuencia, recientemente han aparecido ciertas novedades. Presentamos el caso de un paciente con un OO de localización atípica (el cuarto metatarsiano derecho) y revisamos las características de esta tumoración. |
Summary: |
Osteoid osteoma (OO) is the third benign bone tumor most frequent. Its epidemiologic, clinical, and radiological characteristics are classically well described. Although its gold standard treatment is still radiofrequency-guided ablation, some new techniques have recently appeared. We present a case of a patient with an OO of atypical localization (the fourth metatarsal of the right foot), and we review the characteristics of this tumor. |
