Las fracturas de muñeca son una de las fracturas más comunes en las áreas de urgencias de nuestros hospitales, constituyen el 14 % de todas las lesiones de la extremidad y el 17 % de las fracturas tratadas en urgencias. La cirugía de las mismas mediante placas volares ha aumentado en los últimos años debido a la posibilidad del bloqueo de los tornillos, siendo este el tratamiento quirúrgico de elección en nuestro país. Entre las complicaciones de este tipo de tratamiento se encuentra la lesión tendinosa, debido al material de síntesis, tanto de flexores como de extensores, siendo extremadamente rara la rotura del Extensor Indicis Propius (EIP) y Extensor Digitorum Comunis del dedo indice (EDCi) .Presentamos un caso de rotura de ambos tendones tras el tratamiento con placa volar, sus causas, su resolución y su posible prevención. |

Wrist fractures are one of the most common fractures in the emergency areas of our hospitals, accounting for 14% of all limb injuries and 17% of fractures treated in the emergency room. The surgery of the same using volar plates has increased in recent years due to the possibility of blocking the screws, this being the surgical treatment of choice in our country. Among the complications of this type of treatment is tendon injury, due to the synthetic material, both flexors and extensors, being extremely rare the rupture of the Extensor Indicis Propius (EIP) and Extensor Digitorum Comunis of the index finger (EDCi). We present a case of rupture of both tendons after treatment with volar plate, its causes, its resolution and its possible prevention |
