La rotura espontánea del tendón cuadricipital es una patología asociada a enfermedades crónicas metabólicas. La rotura suele ser unilateral y en raras ocasiones bilateral. Presentamos un caso de rotura bilateral atraumática de tendón cuadricipital (completa en el lado izquierdo y parcial en el derecho), en un paciente en tratamiento con Simvastatina, que fue intervenido por tenorrafia en su rodilla izquierda, mediante sutura tipo Haas-Callaway. |
Summary: |
Spontaneous rupture of the cuadriceps tendon is a pathology associated with chronic metabolic diseases. The rupture is usually unilateral and rarely bilateral. We present a case of bilateral atraumatic rupture of the quadriceps tendon (complete on the left and partial on the right side) in a patient on Simvastatin treatment, who underwent tenorraphy in his left knee using a Haas-Callaway suture. |
