En años recientes, la medicina ha sufrido una evolución rápida y probablemente se producirán más cambios. La asistencia médica exigirá una transformación en su papel y en la preparación del médico, incluyendo información a lo largo de su vida. La naturaleza de la asistencia médica está cambiando rápidamente en múltiples aspectos: demanda, forma de pago, aporte, puesta en escena y tecnología. Las nuevas tecnologías sobre cómo pueden prepararse los educadores médicos transformarán el proceso de educación médica de manera completa en la década que viene; tales son: explosión de nueva información; toda la información como conocimiento e historias médicas, que serán digitales; nueva generación de alumnos; emergencia de nuevas tecnologías docentes; y cambio acelerado del ritmo, con especial relación a la tecnología. La tecnología ha permitido esta sobrecarga cognitiva y la informática biomédica y las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) serán parte de la solución. |
Summary: |
Recent decades have seen innovation in content and methods of medical education, but its basic structure has not changed. However, despite innovation and teaching methods, there has been little alteration to the basic structure of medical education. Highlighted ways technology is transforming the entire process of medical education and identified several converging trends that have implication for how medical educators might prepare for the next decade. The trends includes the explosion of new information; all information including both health knowledge and medical records, becoming digital; a new generation of students; the emergence of new instructional technologies; and the accelerating rate of change, especially related to technology. Technology has brought about this cognitive overload and biomedical informatics and information technologies (IT) will be part of the solution. |
