Resumen: |
Los cambios rápidos de la tecnología de la información son admirables. Similar transformación existe en la manera en que la información es presentada, in-tegrada, recuperada y distribuida. La realidad virtual generada por ordenador es un gran recurso educacional, pero el mayor reto de la superabundancia de la información médica llegará a ser más cómo utilizar esta información que cómo obtenerla. La medicina del aparato locomotor no se enseña adecuadamente en las facultades de medicina y las consecuencias no se han hecho esperar: los estudiantes no llegan a demostrar dominio del asunto y carecen de confianza en este tema. Para responder a la demanda cada vez mayor de diagnóstico y tratamiento de afecciones del aparato locomotor, se necesita llevar a cabo un curso integrado multidisciplinario (traumato-logía y ortopedia, reumatología, medicina física y rehabilitación) para enseñar conocimientos y habilidades a los estudiantes de medicina. |
Summary: |
The rapid changes in information technology are now legendary. There have similar transformations in the way information is represented, integrated, re-trieved and distributed. Computer-generated virtual reality has a great educational appeal. The greatest challenger brought about by this glut of medical information is that validating the information. The role of medical education will become more one of how to use this information than of how to obtain the information itself. Muscu-loskeletal medicine is not thought adequacy in medical schools and the predictable consequences are seen. Students cannot show cognitive mastery of the subject and lack confidence in this topic. To meet the increasing demand for diagnosis and treat-ment of musculoskeletal disorder, it is necessary to develop an integrated, multidis-ciplinary course (orthopaedics, rheumatology and physical medicine and rehabilita-tion) to teach knowledge and skills related to musculoskeletal disease to medical stu-dents. |
