Se presentan 64 enfermos con patología oncológica nasal y orbitaria que han sido tratados por medio de excisión amplia de la lesión y reparación por medio de un colgajo en isla medio-frontal. Se describe la técnica quirúrgica de dicha operación para la reparación de las lesiones descritas y sus variaciones en cuanto a localización y características de los tumores. Dicha técnica tiene unas indicaciones muy definidas en lesiones malignas de la piel más o menos infiltrantes. Se discuten las ventajas e inconvenientes del método, así como la necesidad de una adherencia estricta y rigurosa a las indicaciones quirúrgicas, por tratarse de una operación de cierta envergadura, que se efectúa en un enfermo normalmente de edad avanzada. |
Summary: |
64 patients suffering from malignant nasal and orbitary lesiones have been reported. They have all been treated by wide excision and reconstruction using the mid-forehead island flap technique. The operating procedure and its technical variations to fit the individual lesión and its location are described in detail. The indications in treating more or less infiltrating lesions are discussed. The advantages and shortcomings of the method have been discussed. The necessity to adhere strictly to the indications has been stressed as the operation is a fairly big surgical proceduce to be done on usually elderly patients. |
