Resumen:
 Se recogen 852 fracturas de tibia, de las cuales se seleccionan 609 que responden a mayores de 16 años. 182 fueron reducidas anatómicamente, permitiéndoseles
la carga con polaina a las tres o cuatro semanas. 427 fueron tratadas con el método convencional de yeso isquiopédico. La utilización de la polaina y de la carga precoz ha demostrado una consolidación más rápida, mejores resultados funcionales y más satisfactorios para el paciente.
Summary:
 852 fractures of the shaft of tibia are reported, among them 609 were analysed. 182 were treateld by anatomical reducíion and early weight-bearing with gaiter four weeks after.
427 were treated by immovilisation in upper-knee casto Thet early walking with gaiter gave the best results, early fusion and most comfortable for the patients.
