Resumen:
Se discute la terminología y cuadro clínico de los tumores de nervios periféricos. Se incluyen en la discusión los quistes gangliónicos y los tumores glómicos. Se presentan ejemplos de tumores retroperitoneales y se mencionan los principales tumores presacros. Se describe la relación del embarazo con la lumbociática, así como las ciáticas catameniales. Se resalta la importancia de las afecciones prostatovesiculares en la producción de lumbalgia y dolor referido a los miembros inferiores. Las numerosas anomalías vasculares que pueden causar lumbociática se presentan con suficiente detalle.
Summary:

The terminology and clinical findings of peripheral nerve tumours are considered, as well as the ganglion cysts and the glomus. Sorne facts regarding retroperitoneal tumours are also considered. These tomurs may appar in front of the sacrum, with the posibility of causing lumbo-sciatic pain. The relationship between pregnancy and backache nas been analized, as well as sciatica during menses. Pathological prostatic and seminal vesicle can also cause low back and referred pain along the lower limbs. Numerous vascular anomalies may also produce lumbosciatica.
