Resumen:
 Los autores hacen un estudio comparativo de 130 fracturas del macizo trocantéreo del
fémur, 80 tratadas con clavo-placa de Me Laughlin y 50 tratadas con enclavijado intramedular
de Ender, valorando las condiciones mecánicas de cada método y las ventajas y
desventajas clínicas de los mismos en relación con sus complicaciones generales y locales,
mortalidad y resultados clínicos y radiológicos, concluyendo que el enclavijamiento intramedular
de Ender es preferible en los pacientes con cortas perspectivas de vida y el clavoplaca
de Me Laughlin en los pacientes jóvenes si se consigue una fijación interna rígida.
Summary:
 The authors make a comparative study of 130 trochanteric fractures of the femur, 80
of them were treated with Mc Laughlin's nail-plata and 50 by nailing, Ender's method.
The advantages and disadvantages, mechanic as well as clinical, of each method are
analysed. The general local complications, mortality and clinical and radiological results
bring to the conclusion that Ender's method is the best for old people with ostheoporotic
bone and the nail-plate method of Mc Laughlin is more suitable for young patients in
which a rigid internal fixatión can be achíeved.
