El ligamento lateral interno es un estabilizador de la porción interna de la articulación del tobillo, contra las fuerzas valguizantes. Mientras que alguno de los componentes de este ligamento esté intacto, no se producirá incremento del valgo superior a siete grados. Después de la sección del ligamento lateral interno la inclinación del retropié varió entre dos .y trece grados, pero cuando se aplicó fuerza valguizante el incremento del valgo varió entre trece y treinta grados. Esto puede ser importante en el tratamiento del varo del retropié. |
Summary: |
Tbe medial collateral ligament is a stabilizer of tbe medial side of the ankle joint against valgus stress. Provided tbat sorne of the components of tbis Iigament is intact, no increment of valgus will be superior to seven degrees. After cutting of the medial collateral Iigament the tilt of tbe bindfoot varied between two and tbirteen degrees, but when valgus stresses were applied the increase of valgus varied from tbirteen and tberty degress. This may be important in the treatment of hindfoot varus. |
