Resumen:
 Se estudia la formación de calcificaciones periarticulares en una serie de 104 artroplastias totales de cadera no cementada modelo Lord.
Estas osificaciones ectópicas ocurren más frecuentemente en varones que en hembras, en una proporción 3:1. En nuestra serie no encontramos una relación directa entre las calcificaciones y la causa que llevó al enfermo a la  intervención o las operaciones anteriores sufridas por el paciente.
Summary:
 A study is made of the formation of periarticular calcifications in a series of 104 Lord model non-cemented total hip arthroplasties. .
These ectopic ossifications occur more frequently in males than in females, in a proportion of 3:1. The authors did not find a direct relationship between the calcifications and the cause which loo the patient to the operation or the previous operations undergone' by the patient.
