Resumen:

Los autores efectúan un estudio retrospectivo de las fracturas subcapitales de fémur tratadas con prótesis parciales tipo Monk, dentro del período comprendido
entre 1979 y 1983.

Para ello realizan una valoración clínica utilizando el método de MerIe-d'Aubigné
y el método de Harris. También se hizo un estudio radiológico tanto en el postoperatorio inmediato como en la revisión a distancia.
Los mejores resultados se obtuvieron, a corto y largo plazo, cuando se respetaban los siguientes factores:
- Pacientes mayores de 70 años.
- Prótesis de tallo largo y cúpula metálica con un número adecuado de cabeza.
- Buen apoyo en calcar.
- Efecto Voss +.

Summary:
 A revíew of the subcapital fracture of the hip treated with partial prothesis (Monk's prothesís) from 1979 to 1983 is reported.
A clinical evaluation, using the Merle-D'Aubigne's and Harris' methods and carrying out radiographic study after the surgery and during the follow-up is analised. The best results were obtained in:
- Patients older than 70 years of age.
_ Prothesis with longstem amd metaIlic cup with adequate size.
- Good support at the calcar.
- Voss' + effect.
