La gran cantidad de nueva información acumulada en los últimos años en biología de la cicatrización, biomecánica, métodos quirúrgicos y de manejo postoperatorio de tendones flexores han cambiado los criterios terapéuticos a la vez que mejorado los resultados que se están obteniendo. Se revisan estos nuevos conceptos sistematizándolos para evitar aquellos errores más comunes en la práctica diaria. Pretendemos ofrecer una respuesta a buena parte de las cuestiones que suscita este tema, apuntando aquellos criterios de tratamiento que están ofreciendo mejores resultados en la actualidad. |
Summary: |
A great deal of new information about healing, biomechanics, surgical management and post-repair mobility programmes of flexor tendons has been accumulated in recent years. This fact has modified both therapeutical approach and results of flexor tendon injuries. This paper reviews many of those new concepts in order to avoid common errors in clinical practice. The aim of this up-dated work is to offer an answer to most of the outlined questions in this subject, pointing at those methods of treatment which provide best results at the present moment. |
