Resumen:
 Se presenta una fractura por avulsión de la inserción del tendón del extensor carpi radialis brevis en la base del tercer metacarpiano, tratada quirúrgicamente conresultado satisfactorio. El mecanismo de producción fue un traumatismo directo sobre eldorso de la mano. Fue tratada mediante reducción abierta y fijación interna con dos minitornillos. Este tipo de fractura, a diferencia de la avulsión del tendón del extensor carpi radialis longus, ha sido recogida en la literatura únicamente en dos ocasiones.
Summary:
 A case of avulsion fracture of the tendon of extensor carpi radialis brevis is reported, which was surgically treated with satisfactory results. The mechanism of injury was a blow on the dorsum of the hand. Open reduction and internal fixation withtwo mini-screws was performed. This type of fracture has been reported only twice before.
