Resumen: |
Las fracturas de la falange distal que determinan la conocida deformidad del dedo en martillo, tienen especial interés en el niño por varias razones. Una de las más importantes es la dificultad diagnóstica en los niños pequeños en los cuales no se ha iniciado todavía la osificación epifisaria y por otro, el riesgo potencial de complicaciones y secuelas, porque se trata de fracturas articulares y periarticulares que en muchas ocasiones son abiertas en diferente grado. Se describen siete casos tratados en nuestro servicio en los últimos cinco años, analizando el tipo de fractura, el tratamiento, el resultado funcional y las complicaciones obtenidas. |
Summary: |
The fractures of the distal phalanx that determinate the common deformity called mallet finger are specially interesting in children for several reasons. One of most important is the difficulty of diagnosis in young children because the epiphisis ossification has not started yet, and by the other side the potential risk of complications and sequelae, because they are an articular or periarticular fractures and in many times are an opened fractures in different grade. We describe seven cases treated in our service in the last five years, analysing the type of fracture, the treatment, the functional results and complications obtained. |
